ASEAN Cassava Center Highlights from the Mekong Institute Structured Learning Visit (SLV)

On November 15, 2023, the ASEAN Cassava Center proudly participated in the Mekong Institute Structured Learning Visit (SLV) alongside esteemed delegations from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, and Korea at the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC). The visit, led by Mr. Madhurjya Kumar Dutta, Director of Trade & Investment Facilitation and Coordinator of the Mekong-Republic of Korea Cooperation Fund (MKCF), provided a platform for meaningful engagements and knowledge exchange.

Our team, led by Dr. Warinthorn Songkasiri, Director of the Biochemical Engineering and Systems Biology Research Group at BIOTEC-NSTDA and the ASEAN Cassava Centre, along with Dr. Kanchana Saengchan, presented the successful outcomes of the “Capacity Building on Circular Economy, Resource, and Energy Efficiency for Productivity and Sustainability of Cassava Chain to High-Value Products: Cassava Root, Native Starch, and Biogas in Mekong Countries” (CCC) project. This initiative, funded by the MKCF, showcases our commitment to advancing sustainable cassava practices in the region.

Our participation underscored our commitment to advancing the cassava industry in the ASEAN region, fostering collaborations, and strengthening ties with the Mekong Institute. Special thanks to the Mekong Institute and all distinguished delegates for facilitating a meaningful exchange of knowledge and collaboration.
