March 10, 2025 – The ASEAN Cassava Centre is pleased to share the successful outcomes of the FAO-BIOTEC-NSTDA Hybrid Bioeconomy Dialogue on Bangkok’s Pollution, held in Bangkok, Thailand. This hybrid event convened over 15 experts, including bioeconomy specialists, practitioners, and representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as civil society.

The dialogue served as a crucial platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, recognizing that pollution in various forms continues to challenge urban sustainability and quality of life. Addressing these issues requires cross-sectoral cooperation and innovative bioeconomy solutions. The discussions focused on the role of the food and agricultural sectors in mitigating pollution and explored collaborative approaches to tackle shared challenges. Key objectives of the dialogue included assessing the extent of pollution in Bangkok, particularly its links to the food and agricultural sectors. Showcasing current initiatives and fostering collaboration towards bioeconomy-driven solutions and exploring the establishment of a regional platform to promote bioeconomy ideas and investments.
