Knowledge Dissemination
The ACC aims to develop skills and enhance knowledge for all relevant actors in the cassava value chain through its Knowledge Dissemination Pillar. Our team of experts boasts over 20 years of experience in the cassava industry, coming from esteemed institutions like the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Kasetsart University (KU), Chiang Mai University (CMU), and Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC).
To date, we've trained over 1,000 personnel from various levels (operators, trainers, and managers) across all aspects of the value chain. These areas include cassava cultivation, cassava starch processing, cassava waste management, and cassava-based high-value product development. We also collaborate closely with global partners like UNIDO, Mekong Institute (MI), GIZ, and FAO to drive sustainable development within the cassava industry.
The K Pillar's Work
- Curriculum Planning and Development
We currently offer two cassava value chain curricula – one for operators and another for trainers/supervisors. Both curricula consist of various modules covering different aspects of the cassava industry. These modules can be modified and tailored to suit specific training needs.
- General Training on Cassava Value Chain
We provide online and on-site training on various aspects of the cassava value chain. This includes assessment and evaluation to ensure participants possess the necessary skills and knowledge.
- On-the-Job Training:
We are experts in on-the-job training. Operators working at starch production plants or biogas facilities may face unexpected situations requiring experienced guidance. We can train these operators on specific tasks to improve overall system performance.
- Public Knowledge Sharing
We regularly share our core knowledge, expertise, and relevant news about technology, innovation, and research across the cassava value chain via our social media platforms, primarily our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/aseancassavacentre/).
