August 28, 2025 | The ASEAN Cassava Center is pleased to share our event - the International Seminar on Building Climate Resilient Cassava Systems through Agricultural Innovation, Green Policy, and Sustainable Applications (under Reinventing University: Global Network on Sustainable Bioeconomy in Agri-Business – Cassava Value Chain as a Successful Model). Organized by KMUTT–BIOTEC–NSTDA, the seminar took place at the Knowledge Exchange Center (KX), Bangkok.

The seminar brought together international experts, including:
Dr. Tobias Wojciechowski (Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany) – Engineering Root System Architecture for Resilient Growth and Efficient Carbon Allocation.
Dr. Davone Keomany (National University of Laos, Lao PDR) – Toward Climate-Resilient Development in Laos: Leveraging EIA for Carbon Market Access and Green Investment.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Nguyen Thanh (Food Industries Research Institute, Vietnam) – Exploring the Potential of Cassava for Ethanol Production in Vietnam: A Case-Based Assessment of Challenges and Opportunities.

This seminar provided a platform for sharing international perspectives on root system engineering for resilient cassava growth, climate-resilient development and carbon market opportunities in Laos, and the potential of cassava for ethanol production in Vietnam. Participants gained valuable insights into how scientific innovation, environmental policy, and industrial applications can work together to strengthen cassava value chains under climate change.
