Celebrating MLCSF-funded Projects: TTC Project Joins Launching Ceremony for Thailand's Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Initiatives

On 23 March 2023, Dr. Warinthorn Songkasiri, the principal investigator of the TTC project, and Dr. Kanchana Saengchan, the co-principal investigator, recently attended the Launching Ceremony of Thailand's projects funded by the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (MLCSF) in 2022. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand in cooperation with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Bangkok. H.E. Mr. Chairat Sirivat, ambassador attached to the ministry and Thailand's Mekong SOM leader, gave a welcoming remark, and H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Han Zhiqiang, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Thailand, delivered opening speeches. The Launching Ceremony celebrated 18 projects from 7 agencies that were officially approved to receive financial support from the MLCSF in 2022, with a total amount of 4.016 million US dollars. Representatives from the Embassies of MLC Member Countries in Bangkok, ministerial-level proponent agencies, and implementing agencies attended the event. TTC or "Train-the-Trainer Program under Lancang – Mekong Cooperation to Enhance Production Capacity and People’s Livelihood by Improving the Value Chain for Cassava Cultivation and Application: Clean Cassava Chips, Native Starch, Modified Starch, Ethanol and Biogas Production" project was one of the MLCSF recipients in 2020.
