Building Sustainable Ethanol Industry: BIOTEC Engages in Collaborative Meeting with UNIDO for Council of Ethanol based Clean Cooking (CECC)
On 16 May 2023, Dr. Kuakoon Piyachomkwan, Deputy Executive Director of BIOTEC and team, including Dr. Warinthorn Songkasiri, Director of Biochemical Engineering and Systems Biology Research Group, Dr. Sunee Chotineeranat, Cassava and Starch Technology Research Team Leader, Dr. Kanchana Saengchan, Researcher, and Ms. Seetala Jamrerkjang, Director of International Cooperation and Public Relations Division, had a meeting with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), leading by Mr. Jossy Thomas, Industrial Development Officer and Ms. Ana Garavito, Project Associate on an establishment of Council of Ethanol based Clean Cooking (CECC). The Council aims to provide a platform for its members, partners and experts to share technical information and experience, including best practices in agronomy, logistics, bio-refining, entrepreneurship and market development, social engagement, policy, and finance, so as to create a sustainable ethanol industry and associated value-chains in member countries. BIOTEC team, a member of the Council, discussed and shared idea on collaboration of BIOTEC and UNIDO, activities under the Council framework, and organization of the 2nd webinar in cassava and its value chain on August/September 2023. The webinar program will be finalized and launched as soon.
