𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐚 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐚 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭
28 February 2024, the ASEAN Cassava Centre, represented by Dr. Kanchana Saengchan and Dr. Tarworn Ruttithiwapanich, BIOTEC-NSTDA and ECoWaste researchers, showcased their innovative works at the AgTech Innovation Symposium during the 12th Starch Value Chain ASIA event at Crowne Plaza Vientiane, held between 27-29 February 2024.
Dr. Kanchana's work, "Revolutionizing the Cassava Starch Industry with Eco-Efficiency Platform and Technology Transfer Package," offers a holistic solution for enhancing the efficiency of the cassava industry. This includes an interactive key performance indicator (KPI) platform, training courses on the cassava value chain for capacity building, and on-the-job training for on-site solution provision. The platform can seamlessly integrate into existing manual or automatic processes to enhance production efficiency.
Dr. Tarworn presented his work titled "Boosting Biogas Profits in Cassava Starch Factories with the 2nd Generation High-Rate Biogas Reactor." His core technology efficiently digests cassava pulp at a rate of 50% (dry weight) within just 10-20 days, a significant improvement compared to the 50-100 days required by traditional low-rate technology. Furthermore, his technology includes an innovative training curriculum tailored to specific needs and user experience, enabling operators to effectively manage and address issues within their biogas systems.
Our esteemed partners also presented their works related to cassava at the Symposium, including the Strip Test and SLCMV-ELISA Test Kit for Cassava Mosaic Disease (CMD) detection, Beauveria for insect pest management from BIOTEC, and iCassava: an application for smart cassava production from Kasetsart University.
