ACIAR Cassava Value Chain and Livelihood Program Stakeholder Workshop in Son La

On 25th June 2020, the ACIAR Cassava Value Chain and Livelihood Program organized a stakeholder meeting in Son La province, Vietnam, aimed at enhancing the local cassava value chain. Representatives from government, research, NGOs, and private sectors discussed sustainable production, processing, and market development. Key topics included agronomic practices, post-harvest handling, and market access. Participants emphasized improving productivity, quality, and value addition, along with strategies to support smallholder farmers and promote entrepreneurship. Capacity building, technology transfer, and public-private partnerships were highlighted as essential for driving innovation and investment. Environmental sustainability and social inclusiveness were also addressed, advocating for responsible practices and inclusive policies. Overall, the meeting facilitated dialogue and knowledge exchange, fostering a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable cassava value chain in Son La province, thereby contributing to rural livelihoods and economic development in the region.
