Present were Professor Dr. Charoensak Rojanaritpichet, Chairman of the Foundation, Associate Professor Dr. Wicharn Witchukit, Board Member, Mr. Jarae Jutharatanakul, Director-General, and Mr. Boonmee Wattanaruangrong, Assistant Director-General.

During the meeting, representatives from various companies including Ingredion Sweetener and Starch (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Siam Quality Starch Company Limited, Thai Wah Public Company Limited, Sanguanwong Industry Co., Ltd., Banpong Tapioca Starch Industry Company Limited, and Ubon Sunflower Company Limited reported on the progress, challenges, and proposed plans for expanding Waxy cassava cultivation in 2024. Common issues identified were the outbreak of cassava leaf spot disease and the shortage of clean seedlings.

The Foundation emphasized its commitment to developing Waxy cassava varieties resistant to leaf spot disease within 3-4 years. Additionally, addressing the shortage of Waxy plants, all companies agreed on the necessity of utilizing intensive propagation technology such as X20 and other methods to produce clean and disease-resistant seedlings. They also discussed establishing a dedicated team to implement these technologies and ensure an adequate supply of seedlings for farmers.
