Development Program on Cassava in Border Provinces (Farm and Soil Management)
Following the 14th Thailand-Cambodia Technical Cooperation Meeting (also known as the 14th Consultation on Technical Cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia), held in Chiang Mai Province from February 23rd to 24th, 2017, the meeting acknowledged progress in preparing the cooperation work plan for development.
The collaboration between Thailand and Cambodia, spanning a three-year period from 2017 to 2019, has been extended until 2021 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This extension encompasses three main sectors: public health, education, and agriculture. Discussions during the meeting primarily focused on operations within the agricultural sector, comprising four sub-plans outlined as follows:
Plan 1: Enhancement of Agricultural Productivity.
- Project 1.1: Development Program on Cassava in Border Provinces (Farm and Soil Management).
- Project 1.2: Improvement of the Quality of Rice Seed Production.
- Project 1.3: Promotion of Climate Resilience in Farming Communities of Thailand and Cambodia.
Plan 2: Development of Cooperative Systems.
- Project 2.1: Strengthening Agricultural Cooperatives.
Plan 3: Improvement and Enhancement of Fisheries and Aquaculture Production.
- Project 3.1: Training Course on the Use of Mobile Hatchery as a Tool for the Promotion of Aquaculture and Fisheries Co-management in Cambodia.
Plan 4: Human Resource Development in Cambodia.
