Strategic Meeting to Combat Waxy Plant Shortage: Cassava Development Institute's Initiative.
On July 20, 2023, the Cassava Development Institute of Thailand Foundation, led by Professor Dr. Charoensak Rojanaritpichet, Chairman of the Foundation, Mr. Jarae Jutharattanakul, President, and Mr. Boonmee Wattanaruangrong, Foundation committee member, organized a brainstorming meeting to address the shortage of Waxy plants. Industry stakeholders, including executives, staff, and network farmers from companies such as Ingredion Sweet Tenor and Starch (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Siam Quality Starch Company Limited, Thai Wah Public Company Limited, and Sanguanwong Industry Co., Ltd., participated. Additionally, representatives from farmers in Huai Bong Subdistrict were invited to share insights. The meeting aimed to discuss the foundation's mission in developing CMD varieties and plans for resistant plant propagation to establish guidelines for sustainable expansion of resistant plants in the future.
